About the name
Why "Skinny Straws"?
Because the straw is skinny. It's a slim straw — that's the whole reference. It is not a description of you, and it's not a suggestion about how anyone should look.
Will Skinny Straws make me lose weight?
No. Skinny Straws are not a weight-loss product, a diet aid, an appetite suppressant or a meal replacement, and they have no effect on body weight. They contain zero sugar and zero calories because they're a flavouring, not a drink — that's a fact about the straw, not a promise about you.
So what do they actually do?
They make a cold drink taste like something, and they carry 100% of your daily B3, plus B5 and B6. That's it. If your drink tastes better, they've done their job.
The basics
What is a Skinny Straw?
A drinking straw with a natural flavour lining on the inside. Drop it into a cold drink and the flavour and vitamins infuse as you sip. No powder, no syrup, no washing up.
How do I use it?
Drop one straw into any cold drink, sip, and keep it for the next one. Don't chew it.
How many straws in a box?
Ten.
How big is a straw?
180 mm long and 8 mm across, with rolled ends so it's comfortable to drink from.
What's in it
How much vitamin is actually in one straw?
25 mg of vitamin B3 (niacinamide), which is 100% of the daily value, plus 5 mg of B5 and 2 mg of B6. Full breakdown on our Nutrition & Ingredients page.
Is it really zero sugar and zero calories?
Yes. Zero grams of sugar, and 0.6 calories per straw — which rounds to zero under US labelling rules. The sweetness comes from stevia and monk fruit.
What's it made of?
The straw is plant-sourced cellulose acetate, approved for direct food contact and home compostable. The lining is natural flavour, guar gum, stevia, citric acid, monk fruit and the three B vitamins. The wrapper is a compostable PLA film.
Are there allergens?
No. Skinny Straws are free from all fourteen major allergens — gluten, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soy, sulphites, lupin, molluscs, celery and mustard are all absent. They're also GMO free.
Is it Kosher or Halal?
Not yet. Both are applicable to the product but certification isn't complete, so we won't claim it until it is.
Using them
What drinks do they work in?
Any cold drink. They're designed for cold beverages, so hot drinks aren't what they're built for.
How long does one straw last?
Longer than you'd think — it flavours drink after drink. Most people run one straw for the night; some grab a fresh one when they want a fresh hit. No wrong way to do it.
Do I need a new straw for every drink?
No — one straw keeps going drink after drink. Flavour runs strong then eases off, so swap in a fresh one whenever you want a bigger hit. Once a straw is unwrapped, use it within 24 hours: it's your straw for the night, not the week.
The box says "use once only" — what does that mean?
One night, not one sip. It's the manufacturer's way of saying this isn't a wash-and-keep straw: once it's out of the wrap it's good for 24 hours, then it goes in the compost. Drink after drink inside that window is exactly how it's meant to be used.
Is it really compostable?
Yes, home compostable, straw and wrapper both. No industrial facility needed.
Storage
How long do they keep?
24 months. Store them somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight — below 20°C and under 50% humidity. Every straw carries a batch number and best-before date.
